During the first half of 2018, more than 100 DEGER S100-SR single axis solar tracking systems wereinstalled for the first time in Spain. The trackers are mainly located in the Castilla León region, and are used for agricultural irrigation projects. The municipalities of Alaejos, Pozaldez and Villalbarba have constructed the first facilities in the region.
The single axis horizontal tracking systems have an optimal alignment between the energy produced by the photovoltaic modules and the energy demanded by the irrigation needs. Therefore, the demand for solar trackers has increased in the agricultural sector in recent months in Spain.
In these projects, the specific needs of the frequency inverters that manage the hydraulic pumps necessitated that the strings are to consist of 16 solar modules, and therefore DEGER S100-SR single axis tracker has been adapted for a capacity of 64 modules.
